Dear tea friends,
I hope your spring is off to a great start! So, I have some big news to share… I still can’t quite believe that, 3 years into our journey, it’s finally happening… we’re opening a teahouse in Cambridge by Kendall Square!!! To be fair, it is more of a “tea room” than a “teahouse,” but nonetheless, I am so excited to fill this little room with beauty, good tea, and good people (you!). Here’s a sneak peek of what the room currently looks like, after we filled it with plants:
Among other things, I’m planning to change up/add more seating in the space (including floor seating!), add pendant lights/table lamps, and bamboo shades on the sides of the room. Hoping to have everything ready by late/spring early summer (aka very soon!). As for its exact location - it shall be revealed in our upcoming crowdfunding campaign…!
Speaking of our campaign - perhaps you’ve already heard of NuMarket, where you get the opportunity to invest in a local small business in exchange for 120% in credits to spend there after they open! Our campaign will be launching on April 15, so please stay tuned for that. If you already have an inkling in your heart that you may want to contribute - first of all, thank you so much! And second, I would love for you to be part of our “kickstarter team” to help kick off the campaign on Day 1 with a bang - please email me (simply reply to this newsletter) or comment below to let me know, and I can send you some more info about that. 🫶
Upcoming Events
At the same time that we are preparing for our new tea room, we are also gearing up for some fun upcoming events!
Saturday, April 19: “What Makes A Tea A Tea” class at Connolly Library in Jamaica Plain (NOT Jamaica Plain Library)
Friday, May 1 to Saturday, May 2: Northeast Coffee & Tea Festival in Concord, NH! We will be vending at the community market both days as well as hosting a class on fresh & aged oolongs on Saturday, 3-4 pm.
Online Store
In addition to the events above, we also have a couple of corporate events lined up for the next month. Hence, we anticipate that some of our teas will sell out soon, specifically:
2024 Misty Valley Oolong - because I got too busy when it arrived, this tea did not receive the fanfare that it so deserves!! I just had this one with friends the other day, an incredibly clear, clean tea that hits well above its price point and steeps forever. If you’ve enjoyed our high mountain oolongs before, give this one a try, you won’t regret it.
If you are a fan of any of the above, now is the time to restock!
We are also about to head into the buying season for 2025 spring teas. If you have been following the news on tariffs at all, you know that it has been chaotic and confusing, to say the least. I am hoping for the best case scenario, which will be a small price increase on our teas, with BCT absorbing part of the cost as well. I am doing my best to navigate the chaos as it unfolds, and will keep you posted about any major news or changes.
That’s all for now… As always, thank you for your continued support during these happy, crazy, busy, tumultuous times!
